Global Fund for Cities Development (FMDV)

The Global Fund for Cities Development (FMDV) was created in 2010 at the initiative of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) and Metropolis. It is a city network that aims at strengthening technical capacities of local governments to address their financial needs for urban development.

FMDV is based in Paris (France), and has regional offices for Africa in Rabat (Morocco), Asia and Middle East in Mashhad (Iran) and Latin America in Mexico City (Mexico), as well as national representations in Istanbul, Turkey; Brasilia, Brazil and Washington DC, United States.

The Regional Office for Latin America opened in 2012 with the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding between the FMDV and the Mexico City Government.
